Brent Robinson Building began in 2012 with a small crew. Today we’re Tuatara Construction — a family-owned building company based in Ballina, Northern NSW, specialising in beautiful new homes and turning non-functional spaces into dream sanctuaries.

Questions We Often Get Asked
Building or renovating is a big investment. Here are straight answers to the questions we hear most over coffee.
What areas do you build in?
We’re based in Ballina and build throughout the Northern Rivers — including Aureus, Ballina, Skennars Head, Lennox Head, Byron Bay, Alstonville and the greater Ballina–Byron hinterland. If you’re just outside these areas, give us a call.
How does the free coffee consultation work?
It’s a relaxed, 100% free and no-obligation meeting with Brent. Bring your ideas, plans or even just a Pinterest board — we’ll talk through your site, budget and timeframe and explain the next steps.
Can you help if I don’t have plans yet?
Absolutely. We regularly get involved early in the design stage and work alongside your designer or architect so the plans are practical, buildable and suit your budget.
How do you make sure my build stays on budget?
We work closely with our quantity surveyor to prepare a thorough, detailed quote with no underestimated prime-cost items. Any changes you choose to make during the build are documented as variations and signed off by you before any work goes ahead.
What happens if the project runs late?
We’ll complete your project on or before the agreed date on your contract. If we don’t, we pay you $100 per day until it’s finished (excluding variations and extreme weather delays).
Will I be kept up to date during the build?
Yes — we hold weekly on-site meetings and send regular email updates, so you always know exactly where your project is at and what’s coming next.
What support do I get after handover?
Every home comes with our free 12-month maintenance guarantee. We visit at 3, 6 and 12 months to make sure everything is working perfectly — and if it isn’t, we fix it.
